~Solid Foods~

We started Walker on solid foods and so far he's LOVING it! We're slowly introducing new foods to him and he's tried cereal, green beans, carrots, and bananas. I'm hoping he takes after daddy and isn't a picky eater like his mother. Walker looks so darn cute when he eats too. I'm loving it just as much as he is.

~Walker's First Tooth~

Walker is getting his first tooth on the bottom!!!!! I can't believe my baby boy is getting so big already. He's been drooling A LOT and has been a little cranky the last few days. He tries to put everything in his mouth too. He just wants to chew, chew, chew.

~Our Trip To Omaha~

We took a family trip to Omaha, NE last weekend and had a blast. I've always heard good things about the zoo there, so I couldn't wait to take Walker for his first zoo experience. The weather was perfect and while KC was getting all the rain, we had plenty of sunshine to enjoy the day. Walker is such a good baby and we've never had a bad experience when we're out with him. We got to the zoo at opening and left an hour before they closed. That is a long day for a 5 month old. Walker rode the Carousel for the first time too. This was also his first time to stay in a hotel too. We had planned on taking him swimming in the pool, but changed our minds quickly after realizing there was way too much chlorine in the water. I didn't want it to irritate his skin, so I let him take a bath in the big jacuzzi tub back in the room.

~Deanna Rose Farmstead~

Walker and I went to the Deanna Rose Farmstead on April 1, opening day. Of course it was busy since it was opening day and it is free admission through the week. We had a lot of fun, although Walker fell asleep 20 minutes into it. We stayed an hour and I just walked around and enjoyed the fresh air and atmosphere. We saw plenty of farm animals and lots of little ones running around playing. This is just the beginning of many trips to come.

~The Krazy Coupon Lady~

I stumbled upon an awesome website called The Krazy Coupon Lady and have been obsessed with it ever since. I have always used coupons, but obviously wasn't using them to my ultimate advantage. I have learned how to "outsmart" the system now and I'm saving us a tremendous amount of money on our shopping adventures. If you haven't learned how to use coupons correctly, then this website will help you out when you're feeling lost about the whole understanding of it. I am having so much fun saving money. As a 1 income family, this is an awesome advantage. You will need to take time and study the store circulars and how to use your coupons and the rewards money correctly. The key to getting items for "free" is to do multiple transactions. Here are a couple of pictures of all the awesome deals I scored.

I love this website!!! I spent $9.15 at Walgreens on everything in the second picture and saved $44.00 after my coupons. I spent a total of $9.37 on everything in the first picture and saved $30.56.

Easter ~ 2010

We spent Easter weekend in Springfield this year and celebrated Landon's 4th birthday at the same time. We went to Wacky World for Landon's birthday party and all the kids had a blast......even some of the adults got in to the fun. The place had blow up bounce houses everywhere. Landon's birthday theme was "Monster Trucks", he's completely obsessed with them. All of the family went back to Christina's house and just hung out........catching up with one another. The majority of us were from out of town. Walter, Walker, myself, my mom, and my brother, Jacob were from Kansas City. My brother, Mark and his wife, Becky were in from St. Louis. My Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Gary, and Cousins, Cody and Kyle were in from Illinois. My Great Aunt Lou and Great Uncle Mick from Kimberling City.

Sunday morning we all met up for breakfast and then went back to the house for the Easter egg hunt. Walker slept while Landon was hunting for eggs. When Walker woke up we dressed the boys in their matching outfits and took pics of them. This lasted about 15 minutes and then they were no longer having it. We had a lot of fun celebrating Walker's first Easter together as a family.

Professional Belly Pics

My wonderful friend, Misty Lingnau, took my pregnancy pics.

The Battle Of The Bulge

So it has been almost 4 months since I delivered my precious baby boy. I knew it would take time to lose the baby weight, but I'm kinda growing impatient. I saw on the news the other day that it takes 6 months to a year to lose the weight. I want to wear my cute clothes again!!!!

I have 11 more lbs to go till I reach my pre-pregnancy weight, but would like to lose an additional 6 more lbs. I started a workout DVD, 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels, a couple of weeks ago. There are 3 levels to the routine and I am on Level 1. I have slowly attempted Level 2, but not quite strong enough for it yet. I can't believe how out of shape my body is after not working out for a year. I have lost 3lbs since I started the workout routine though. Walker and I have also been taking walks when it is nice outside. We're walking about 3 miles a day.

I will keep posting updates on my progress as the weeks follow. I'm determined to start wearing shorts again soon.

Walker and I have been trying to get out and take walks on the days it has been nice out. We are loving the nice weather and it is nice for both of us to get some fresh air. Mama gets a workout and Walker gets a nice nap out of it. He is such a good boy when we're taking our walks. I'm looking forward to Spring weather.

Springfield Bound

We had our first family road trip last weekend. There is a lot of planning that is involved when trying to pack for a 3 month old. We looked as though we were moving in with my sister by the time the car was packed. The majority of the stuff we packed belonged to Walker.

We left Friday evening after Walter got off work. I made sure to give Walker a bath and feed him right before we left so he would be completely content on the way down. Walker was an angel and slept most of the way. We didn't have to stop once.

My 15 year high school reunion was on Saturday night. We had a lot of fun and it was great to see old friends. I can't wait for more family road trips.

Baby In The Mirror

Walker has "discovered" himself in the mirror. I will hold him in front of the mirror and he will start smiling from ear to ear. Then he starts bouncing around and laughing at himself. Of course, this always makes mommy laugh too. We have a lot of good times when we're at home and daddy is working.

This Little Piggy

Walker has discovered his hands and feet.
I love to watch him stare at his hands and feet in amazement; like it is the coolest thing ever.
Blowing bubbles from his mouth all while "talking" and squirming around in excitement.
My baby boy is getting so big.

Stay~At~Home Mommy

Well it is official: I am a stay-at-home mommy now. Walter and I decided it was the best decision for our family. I turned in my resignation at work last Monday and was completely fine with it. I thought I would be a little sad about leaving, but quickly realized I would be spending all my time with my beautiful son. I was so excited! Walker is the most amazing gift that has come into our lives. I look forward to my new journey and can't wait to experience all that is ahead of me.

Walker Gaige Watkins

Walker Gaige Watkins was born on Wednesday, December 09, 2009 at 8:41 a.m. He weighed 9.76 lbs and measured 20 in. long. I had him via c-section because he was such a large baby. This was the best day of our lives. He is the most precious gift we could ever receive. Walter and I waited 5 long years for this moment.
